On January 15, the National Commission on Social, Emotional, and Academic Development released its final report, A Nation At Hope with six key recommendations:

  1. Set a vision for student success that prioritizes the whole child.
  2. Transform learning settings so they are physically and emotionally safe and foster strong bonds among students and adults.
  3. Change instruction to teach students social, emotional and cognitive skills; embed these skills in academics and schoolwide practices.
  4. Build adult expertise in child and adolescent development.
  5. Align resources and leverage partnerships across schools, families and communities to address the whole child.
  6. Forge closer connections between research and practice to generate useful, actionable information for educators.

New Grants to Support SEL Innovation from NoVo Foundation/EdFirst

Recommendations for School Districts on Using SEL Surveys
