2026 Community Collaboration Challenge

DEADLINE: Jan 16

With support from the Leon Lowenstein Foundation, the Challenge provides $5,000 – $10,000 awards to communities to support collaboration that expands and pilots evidence-based K-12 student supports: high-impact tutoring, mentoring, student success coaching, postsecondary transition coaching, and/or wraparound/integrated student supports.

Young Futures Awards

DEADLINE: Jan 21

Young Futures + Hopelab. Young Futures Awards will recognize 30 young leaders working in digital wellbeing with $1500 award and entry to the Young Futures Academy. Please spread the word and nominate young people in your network (age 18-29) that you’d like to see celebrated for their work and contributions in this space!

Bridging Differences Leadership Cohort

Council on Foundations seeks funders looking to build constructive dialogue and understanding across differences to join their Bridging Differences Leadership Cohort. Hosted by the CoF in partnership with the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley, the cohort will meets monthly from April through November (with an orientation in March).

Mott Million Dollar Challenge

DEADLINE: Feb 27

The Mott Million Dollar Challenge is a national pitch competition for K–12 students, where kids and teens dream up solutions, tackle real-world problems, and compete for their share of $1 million in prizes.

Kids and teens grades K-12, from any U.S. state or the District of Columbia can enter solo or with a team of up to three. Just jot down your idea, record a simple 30-90 second video about it and submit.

Catalyze Challenge Round 5

Round 5 of the Catalyze Challenge is investing over $4 million in bold, early-stage innovations that expand career-connected learning for young people.

  • Theme One: Career Exploration for Young Adolescents — Empowering middle and high school students to discover interests, build agency, and imagine their futures through hands-on, student-driven experiences. 
  • Theme Two: Meaningful Work-Based Learning through Employer Partnerships — Connecting learners with employer co-designed opportunities that build technical and professional skills aligned with today’s workforce needs.

New Initiative Providing Free Supports to Nonprofits

Nonprofit GPS is a national, field-driven collaboration helping nonprofits navigate business model risks and make well-informed decisions to keep their missions strong.

Led by Nonprofit Financial Commons, BDO Nonprofit & Grantmaker Advisory Services, and Philanthropy New York, with tools from StrongNonprofits.org and insights from regional networks nationwide. Supported by the Wallace Foundation and other foundations.

Nonprofit GPS helps organizations make well-informed decisions and navigate business model risks to keep the mission alive, even in the most disruptive times. Nonprofit GPS offers connection to peer wisdom through a nationwide network, access to practical tools for financial risk assessments and planning for uncertain times.
