March 26 & 27: Join GTY for a Watch Party of the 2026 Budget & Tax Briefing. Gain timely analysis of major political dynamics, budget and revenue fights, and emerging opportunities shaping the year ahead.

Register for the GTY Watch Party happening March 26 & 27.

HR 1 makes deep cuts to vital programs including health care, housing, food assistance, and education while giving tax breaks to billionaires and corporations. This legislation will make it harder to fund the services people need most and shifts significant administrative and eligibility burdens onto states, forcing them to cut spending, use up emergency funds, and/or raise taxes.

This year’s Budget and Tax Briefing by Economic Opportunity Funders will cover what’s happening at the federal and state levels and the impacts on families and communities.

Understanding current budget and tax issues is critical for youth-focused philanthropies. Join us to:

  • hear about the impacts of HR1 on the people and communities you care about;
  • learn more about coordinated efforts underway to shape the budget and tax fights ahead; and
  • consider grantmaking strategies and opportunities for collaboration with like-minded stakeholders.

Tune in to sessions on one or both days as your schedule allows:

  • March 26Ideas Showcase — visionary and actionable approaches to revenue generation and public benefit access
  • March 27:  Budget and Tax Outlook — analysis of the federal and state budget and tax landscape and strategizing for what comes next

See details on specific sessions and times.

GTY’s member-only meeting in April will dive in deeper — holding space for sensemaking and reflection, and surfacing implications for youth-facing philanthropy.
