As we noted in our statement focused on Black Lives Matter last month, if our goal is for all youth to thrive, we must dismantle structural barriers designed to keep young Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) separated from opportunity and facing the consequences of racist policies and practices. This work is even more important as our schools and communities navigate the challenges of reopening this fall.

The State of Young People during COVID-19: of 3,300 high school-aged youth, 30% have more often been feeling unhappy or depressed, and 29% are more concerned than usual about having their basic needs met.
All of Who I Am: Perspectives from Young People About Social, Emotional, and Cognitive Learning and a youth engagement guide based on interviews with 100 young people in six sites, a mix of school and after-school programs that intentionally integrate social, emotional, and cognitive development.
